Worth the investment

The ShotKam was not the cheapest option, but I am glad I made the investment. It is a really well-built, quality product. After using it for about 3 weeks I have already seen a noticeable difference. I highly recommend it. Don't cheap out and go with one of the other competitor products out there, I've used several over the years and the ShotKam is by far the best.

Essential

The Gen 3 is an essential tool for any clay shooter with great video quality to capture and review each shot with clarity. Its reliability and design make it perfect for improving your technique and consistently breaking clays.

Helpful

I shot a skeet round of 25. As I was shooting I could see the wadding behind the skeet on station 3,4,&5 high house. I thought that I was behind and kept increasing my lead. Reviewed shotkam at home and saw that I was way ahead and high. After reviewing shotkam, I shot 4 more rounds one week later. I didn't miss any high house 3,4,&5 on 4 rounds of 25. That was helpful-after my first use of shotkam!

Gen 3 v Gen 4

I bought a ShotKam gen 3 instead of a gen 4 because it was on special offer and because the gen 4 was the price of a good gun. Not for me that an accessory costs more than the main tool.
That said, I’m pleased with the purchase. The resolution is not great by today’s standards but it is adequate. By comparing successful shots with unsuccessful ones, it’s often easy to see why I missed.
Would I go back and buy a gen4? No, the better resolution might make the images prettier but the frame rate is lower, (100 fps v 60, so I read) so picking the frame that explains why you missed might be more difficult, and I wouldn’t use the extra gigs of memory between downloads to my Mac to make that a worthwhile investment over the gen3. All in all, I’m happy with the kit and my purchase decision.
